Jairus Olumasai Nandwa is currently, an MSc Biosciences student at Comsats University Islamabad under the sponsorship of the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship. He holds a BTech in Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology from the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), Kenya. He has previously worked as a master’s research intern at the National Institute of Health, Islamabad, and completed his undergraduate laboratory training at Regional Veterinary Investigation Laboratory, Mariakani, Kenya. Through research and policy making, he is dedicated to championing cancer prevention efforts and delivering programs and services that benefit Kenyans affected by cancer. His research interest is in identifying single nucleotide polymorphisms as prognostic or diagnostic markers and other epigenetic mechanisms involved in determining cancer susceptibility.
